Our Services at Independent Jewellery Valuations

  • Undertaking all types of valuation work; from stone set jewellery to bracelets, chains and earrings.
  • All pieces are examined under laboratory conditions.
  • All relevant technical details are recorded as a full written report along with a digital photograph, all of which is stored electronically on our database.
  • Two copies are given for each valuation, 1 for you and 1 for your insurance company.
  • Any repairs required can be quoted on and completed prior to valuation.
  • Average jewel set valuation is $75
  • Non jewel set valuation is $50
  • Complicated articles valuation is $85
  • Inventories prepared for larger quantities, price on application

  • Cheque, cash or direct credit are the only accepted payment methods and all charges must be paid for on collection.

  • IJV will not give out its street address without an appointment and contact phone numbers (for security purposes)
  • IJV offers an urgent service at a small additional fee.
  • All articles are insured whilst in our care and all work is conducted on the premises.
  • Every valuation issued by IJV is acceptable to all insurance companies in New Zealand.
  • Being a JVS member, we are governed by a strict code of ethics, which means we must keep up to date with the latest knowledge and trends.
  • All insurance valuations must comply with insurance standards 2010.
